What Built Today's Expertise
My first profession was as a journalist and newspaper editor. Read more here on how that prepared me to build websites and write good content for marketing purposes.
Concurrent with finishing my master's and going into private practice, I taught college courses to adult students, and I designed curriculae. This taught me how to plan strategies and methods that helped people learn new concepts and applications.
I used to be a psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist. In my 20+ year career, I specialized in self-employed women struggling with anxiety, low confidence, and self-sabotage. This was excellent preparation for helping my introverted colleagues, and those who are new to business and finding it intimidating and overwhelming.

What I Don't Do Any More
I don't see clients in person, even if you are local. Meeting by phone is so much more convenient and time-efficient.
I don't do sessions when you are in your car driving. The liability is just too high, and risks are more than I will accept. And most of the time it is best if you are on your computer when we talk.
As much as I like to be generous with my time and knowledge when working under a contract with clients, I don't give away free advice by phone or email. There just isn't enough time in the day to do this. But do check my blog here and at DeWriteSites where I post useful and specific instructions on many common topics and questions about marketing.
I don't do your marketing chores for you. It's not in your best interest to rely on me to do your blogging, ezining, posting to your social media, rackcard / brochure /powerpoint production. I will advise and teach, and then it's up to you to follow through.
Except for spiritual counseling, I have retired from clinical work. I do still occasionally coach on various issues connected to professional self-sabotage, everyday worries, and making your life work well in private life or private practice. Much of that can be found via my Facebook business pages.
