How to Create a Text Link in Wix
Because several clients have asked how to create a list of titles that are themselves links back to the source pages on their own website – usually individual blog posts -- I’m providing this instruction.
Step One
Open the public view of your website in your browser.
In a separate browser tab, open your Wix blog editor.
You will be working between these two browser tabs.
Step Two
In your public view tab, go to the blog post you want to link.
Copy the title
Highlight the title with your mouse
Click and hold the CMD or CTRL key on your keyboard then also click on the C key to copy
Step Three
In the Wix editor tab of your browser, go to the place where you are making the title list
Start a new text box or open an existing text box
Paste in the title
Click and hold the CMD or CTRL key then also click on the V to paste the title you copied
Step Four
Return to the public view tab
Make sure it is the page where you just copied the title
Now highlight and copy the url for that page – this is what makes the link
The url is found in your browser address bar
A url looks like – https://www.domainname.com/single-post/2018/03/12/Here’s-The-Title-You-Copied
Be sure to copy the whole thing
Step Five
Return to the Wix editor tab
Highlight the title you previously pasted into the text box
The text box settings will pop up when the title is highlighted
Click on the link icon
Select Web Address from left side column
Paste in the url where shown in upper right column
Click the Done button
Step Six
Return to the public view tab
Select the next blog title to copy and paste
Repeat steps 3-5
This method can be used to turn a text reference into a link from any webpage on the internet, assuming you are importing the url for the link into your own Wix website. It should work with maybe slight modification to turn a phrase in an email into a link, depending on your email platform.
But it won't work in Facebook, and possibly not in other social media platforms. The reason is that the Facebook status function doesn't allow any coding. This is why you can't bold or italic words in your Facebook posts.
