Deah Curry designs solopreneur websites with Wix

A month ago I was an unhappy Wix camper. Today I'm thrilled to find many of the missing text editing tools returned. Hooray for a webhost that listens to its customers and continues to improve its services.

If you are having trouble finding the new / restored blogging tool bar, highlight a line you have just typed, and voilà! - the tool bar appears.

At first it will look skimpy. But see on the right end where it says More? Click on that, and most of the familiar and much needed tools are there. Hooray!

Ooops. Sigh. As of March 1st, the More option with the additional tools is gone again. Dang. And I needed those today. C'mon, Wix, get it together.

But Hooray! As of March 17 or there abouts, the More option is back. Can't say Wix doesn't keep you in suspense. LOL

The original post ---

As a Wix website owner -- well actually, I have more than half dozen Wix sites and have built many more for others -- I'm usually happy about the updates to the technology of the platform that continually makes itself easier to use.

Today Wix is changing how blogging and editing blogs works. And they must be in the middle of the process because my text editing tools are gone!

Panic!!

Breathe.

I feel like my security blanket has been ripped away. The mind races to problem solve.

Oh look what I find when poking around. A text editing tool bar does appear when the text I'm writing here is highlighted. But it has fewer options. Hmmm. Not that happy about it.

Think your tags are missing because you can't see them at a glance? Yep, that's what I thought. Until, that is, I happened to click inside the field where you'd type in new tags, and oh look, there's the list, in no particular alphabetical order.

Every webhost make techie updates to their tools now and then. Wix does so on a more frequent basis than I have experienced elsewhere. This is mostly a good thing. But it does cause some freak outs and frustration until you adjust.

If you need help adjusting, let me know.

Why I've Retired

awizardhat3.jpg

It's possible this will come as a surprise to you -- it certainly has snuck on me that I'm well past retirement age. Over the last year or so, my heart has been pulled in other directions, and while I still love the creative aspects of website design, I want to use my time making a life rather than devoting my energies to making a living. So I plan to travel, attend writers' retreats, work on learning to take good iPhone photos, and just be open to where my spirit guides take me. I have also stepped back from my esoteric work for 2020, and who knows what the future holds for that.

Please see the blog post for my two Wix designers who have earned my highest recommendations for serving my client niche.

All the Best to You!
